How the Crafting System Works

Rift Wizard 3 crafting system overview โ€” combining components from ruins across the universe to forge powerful artifacts
Two materials, one craft โ€” permanent artifacts that carry across runs

The crafting system in Rift Wizard 3 is straightforward: two materials, one craft. Unlike skill upgrades which reset when you die, crafted items are permanent โ€” they carry over to your next run and stack with whatever else you've forged before. This makes crafting the primary form of long-term progression in the game.

Materials drop from enemies during dungeon runs. Every elite enemy (golden-bordered) and every boss has a chance to drop a material. Higher floor enemies drop rarer materials. There is no separate recipe book โ€” if you have the materials, you can craft the item immediately from the in-run menu.

The crafting menu is accessible from the main menu between runs or during a run via the Escape menu. Completed crafts go into your persistent inventory and appear as additional equipment slots from your very next run.

๐Ÿ’ก Pro Tip

Plan your crafts around your build's resource needs โ€” mana regen crafts shine for high-cost spells, while defensive crafts (Void Mantle) are essential for surviving floor 10+ bosses.

Legendary Recipes

Legendary crafts are the most powerful items in the game. They require Void Shards or equivalent floor-8+ materials.

Legendary
Void Mantle

Absorbs next 3 damage instances, then teleports you to safety

Materials: Shadow Silk + Void Shard

Where to farm: Shadow Silk drops from Shadow Wraiths (floors 5-10). Void Shards only appear on floors 8+ from Void Beasts and the final boss.

Legendary
Aetheric Crown

+30% spell damage and reduces all spell cooldowns by 1 turn

Materials: Arcane Crystal + Soul Gem + Ancient Gold Band

Where to farm: Arcane Crystals drop from Arcane Golems (floors 6-10). Soul Gems come from Wraith enemies. Ancient Gold Band is a rare drop from the dungeon treasurer.

Epic Recipes

Epic-tier equipment cards โ€” each tag grants stacking damage bonuses across your loadout

Epic crafts offer strong build-defining bonuses. They become available from floor 4 onward.

Epic
Thornweave Cloak

Extends all poison duration by 1 turn and gives +20% poison damage

Materials: Ironbark Bark + Poison Sac

Where to farm: Ironbark Bark drops from Treant enemies (floors 3-7). Poison Sac is reliably dropped by Venom Spiders on floors 2-6. Essential for poison-based builds like Rot Gaze.

Epic
Mana Siphon Ring

+15% mana regeneration per turn, +5 mana on each enemy kill

Materials: Crystalized Mana + Soul Gem + Gold Band

Where to farm: Crystalized Mana drops from Mana Golems (floors 4-9). Gold Band is a common drop from any treasure chest. Best-in-slot for Fire Surge and Arcane Nova builds.

Epic
Firebrand Scroll

Casting Fire Surge also applies a 25% damage amplification to nearby allies for 3 turns

Materials: Fire Essence + Ancient Scroll + Phoenix Feather

Where to farm: Fire Essence drops from Flame Imps (floors 2-6). Phoenix Feathers only appear as a boss drop on floor 7+. Fire builds love this item for party synergy in higher floors.

Rare & Uncommon Recipes

These crafts are easier to assemble and provide solid early-game power. They drop widely across all floors.

Rare
Ironbark Shield

+25 max HP and reduces physical damage taken by 10%

Materials: Ironbark Bark + Iron Ore

Where to farm: Both materials drop from early-game enemies. Iron Ore is especially common from Stone Golems on floors 1-4. Solid first craft for tanky builds.

Rare
Venom Fang Dagger

Basic attacks apply 1 stack of poison. Works with all classes.

Materials: Poison Sac + Sharpened Bone

Where to farm: Poison Sac from Venom Spiders (floors 2-6). Sharpened Bone from Skeleton enemies. A surprisingly strong craft for builds that lack innate poison application.

Uncommon
Health Siphon Amulet

Heal for 5 HP every time you apply a status effect to an enemy

Materials: Crystalized Mana + Bone Charm

Where to farm: Crystalized Mana from Mana Golems (floor 4+). Bone Charm from Skeleton enemies. A strong sustain craft for longer fights.

Uncommon
Frostbound Boots

+15% movement speed and 10% chance to freeze adjacent enemies when you move

Materials: Frost Essence + Leather Scrap

Where to farm: Frost Essence from Ice Elementals (floors 3-7). Leather Scrap is a universal drop. Useful for kiting strategies and hit-and-run tactics.

Crafting System: Pros & Cons

Crafted equipment spans stat boosts, event triggers, and legacy passives brought back from earlier Rift Wizard titles

โœ… Pros

  • Permanent progression โ€” items survive death and carry between runs
  • Build-defining power spikes that make subsequent runs dramatically easier
  • No material caps โ€” you can craft multiple copies of the same item
  • Materials stack infinitely in inventory with no weight limit
  • Thornweave Cloak and Mana Siphon Ring enable otherwise unplayable builds
  • Material drop rates are generous enough to complete 2-3 crafts per good run

โ›” Cons

  • Legendary materials (Void Shards) only appear in late floors, gatekept by difficulty
  • No way to target specific material drops โ€” purely RNG
  • Inventory management between runs requires deciding what to keep
  • Some recipes (Aetheric Crown) require 3 materials, increasing build complexity
  • Duplicate crafts of the same item do not stack โ€” only one equipped at a time
  • Material trading with other players is not possible in Early Access

Frequently Asked Questions

The crafting system requires two materials combined at a crafting station. Each recipe produces a permanent item with stats that persist through death. Recipes are unlocked by finding material drops during runs โ€” there's no separate recipe book to learn.

The Void Mantle (Shadow Silk + Void Shard) is widely considered the best Legendary craft. It grants a shield that absorbs the next 3 instances of damage and teleports you to safety when the shield breaks โ€” invaluable in boss fights and elite encounters.

Rare materials drop from elite enemies (marked with a golden border) and bosses. The drop rate is approximately 5-8% per elite. Playing on higher dungeon floors yields better material quality. Void Shards only appear in floors 8+.

The Mana Siphon Ring (Crystalized Mana + Soul Gem + Gold Band) provides +15% mana regeneration per turn and restores 5 mana whenever you kill an enemy. It is the go-to craft for mana-hungry builds like Fire Surge and Arcane Nova.
